Melica is a firm of consultants founded in 1987. At Melica natural scientists, social scientists, planners, civil engineers and architects cooperate in generating comprehensive solutions for the physical and cultural environments. We believe that environmental questions demand a broad approach , where communication between different specialist fields across different specialist fields, and that communication, involvement and knowledge are all important factors for progress.
Our broad network allow us to acquire information on a wide range of current issues, it creates possibilities for cooperation and helps with the exchange of knowledge. Our close association with research and development at the universities is another important component of Melica.
We work with communication, investigations, research, surveys, planning and detailed design. Many of our clients are governmental organisations, local authorities and county councils. We are also involved in projects at an international level, such as EU-programmes.
In the spring of 2006, Melica (in co-operation with CogentSI) carried out a study of Buckie Harbour in the Northeast of Scotland. The study involved extensive stakeholder consultation and examines how the harbour economy might be re-invigorated and diversified in order to secure a sustainable future for the wider town. The study includes a marina feasibility study as well as a physical masterplan for the regeneration of the harbour area. For more information contact: Kester Gibson, kester.gibson@melica.se
